About the department
The field of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) is the place to be in,
for those who love working with electrical systems - ranging from heavy power generators
to the smallest of micro-chips. This stream involves the design, manufacture, installation,
operation and management of electrical systems that underpin modern economies and
contribute to improving the quality of life. The EEE Department at SECE prepares
students in this field using new-age information and computer-intensive technologies.
The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering is playing a vital role
to produce scientists and technologists of highest caliber. The infrastructure and
lab facilities are upgraded from time to time and provide adequate opportunities
for students and researchers to learn and innovate. The Department has distinguished
faculty, most of them holding M.E degrees from renowned institutes in India. Some
of the faculty members in the department are IEEE members.

Laboratory Facilities
Laboratories attached to the department are equipped with latest machinery/ equipment/instruments
to train students to the level of industry expectations. Some of the major facilities
available are
Electrical workshop :
The students are trained on house and industrial wiring systems, PCB making, winding
study of the motor.
Electrical Machines Laboratory :
Different types of DC generators and motors - separately excited, shunt, series
and compound type. Synchronous Motors, Single phase and three phase Induction Motors,
Transformers, Auto Transformers, Alternator sets and various kinds of starters.
Electronics Laboratory :
Cathode Ray oscilloscopes, Function generators, Multimeters, Variable and fixed
Power Supplies, Analog and Digital Trainer Kits.
Measurements and instrumentation laboratory :
LVDT kit, Bourdon pressure transducer arrangement, Maxwell's Inductance Bridge,
Schering Bridge, Wheat stone Bridget, Kelvin Double Bridge, Instrumentation Amplifier
module, Series AC&DC circuit trainer, Current Transformer setup.
